All melamine, polycarbonate and porcelain without gold-rims are completely dishwasher safe. Up to 250 washes for gold-rimmed porcelain, and top-rack only for acrylics.

Why Italian chopping boards are different
An American chopping board is utilitarian. An Italian chopping board is decorated. The board is part of the serving moment — you don't put the cheese on a plate, you carry the cheese to the table on the board it was cut on. This is the Italian aperitivo logic: the prep object is the serving object.
Baci Milano's Italian chopping boards are food-safe melamine, hand-decorated with the Mamma Mia patterns (Tree of Life, Hand, Pomegranate, Heart, Strawberry, Flowers). The melamine surface is knife-friendly for soft items (cheese, bread, charcuterie) and easy to clean. The hand-decoration makes the board the centerpiece, not an accessory.
How to use it
As a chopping board. For cheese, charcuterie, bread, fruit. The melamine surface is knife-friendly for soft items (not heavy daily knife use).
As a charcuterie board. Layer with prosciutto, salame, three cheeses, olives, dried figs, jam, bread. The Italian aperitivo board.
As a serving board. Carry cheese, antipasto, or dessert to the table directly on the board.
As a tray. Coffee + biscotti to a guest. Drinks on the patio.

Why melamine for an Italian chopping board
Wood boards crack, stain, and need oiling. Bamboo boards are good but can't go in the dishwasher. Melamine is the material that survives the dishwasher, doesn't warp, doesn't stain, and accepts the hand-decoration that makes the Italian board visually distinctive. For light-duty chopping (cheese, charcuterie, fruit, bread) and serving, melamine is the right material.
For heavy daily chopping (vegetables, meat), use a wood or composite cutting board. The melamine board is the everyday cheese-and-serving board.
