Italian Latte Cups & Saucers
Italian latte cups with saucers and lids — the larger Mamma Mia porcelain cup, designed in Italy, sized for a morning caffe latte rather than an espresso. Hand-painted patterns include leaves, hands, hearts, pomegranates, the tree of life, and the iconic flower motif. Each comes with a matching saucer and porcelain lid that keeps the drink warm.
What makes this an Italian latte cup
In Italian coffee service, the cup size tells you the drink: the demitasse (2–3 oz) is for espresso, the slightly larger 5–6 oz cup is for cappuccino or caffe latte, and the mug is generally not part of the traditional Italian table at all. The Mamma Mia Cup with Saucer/Lid sits in the latte/cappuccino tier — holds roughly 6 oz, comes with both a saucer and a porcelain lid (the lid keeps the foam alive between the kitchen and the table).
Latte cup vs cappuccino cup vs espresso cup
Espresso cup (demitasse): 2–3 oz, for a single shot of espresso. Browse Italian espresso cups.
Cappuccino / latte cup: 5–6 oz, for a morning cappuccino or a caffe latte with steamed milk. The Mamma Mia cup-with-lid lives here. Also see Italian cappuccino cups.
Coffee mug: 8–12 oz, larger, used outside Italy. See Italian coffee mugs for the closest equivalents in our line.
How the cup-with-lid works
The porcelain lid sits flush on the cup, traps the steam, and keeps the latte foam intact during the walk from the espresso machine to the table. It also doubles as a small saucer for a biscotto or amaretto cookie. The lid is dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe — same as the cup and saucer.
The six Mamma Mia patterns
Each pattern in the Mamma Mia line is finished by hand at our Italian studio. Slight variation piece to piece is intentional. The patterns: Leaves, Hand, Pomegranate, Tree of Life, Heart, Flower. Mix and match — they're designed to coexist on a single table.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a latte cup and a cappuccino cup?
In Italian service the same cup typically does both jobs — 5–6 oz, wider at the top for foam, narrower at the base. A caffe latte is just a longer pour with more steamed milk; the cup itself is the same.
Does the lid actually stay on?
Yes — it sits in a recess on the rim and stays put while the drink is carried. It's not a screw-on lid; it lifts off cleanly.
Are these microwave-safe?
Yes. The cup, saucer, and lid are all microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. No metal in the glaze.
Can these go in the freezer?
Yes but not recommended — thermal shock can craze the porcelain glaze over time. Hot drinks only.
Where are these designed?
